Brick Bay Sculpture Trail

Arabella Lane, Snells Beach

Brick Bay Sculpture Trail near Matakana showcases an ever-changing exhibition of around 45 contemporary sculptures, available for sale, by leading New Zealand artists. On the 2km trail, experience sculpture in a remarkable landscape framed by towering native trees, abundant birdlife and green pastures, overlooking the celebrated Brick Bay Vineyard.

Sculptureum

40 Omaha Flats Road, Matakana

A few minutes drive from Matakana village lies Sculptureum, where three art-filled gardens, six galleries, a vineyard, a function centre and Rothko – the site’s restaurant and bar – flow over 25 acres. The owners have spent 12 years developing the project and longer still collecting the hundreds of works that fill it.

The Secret Garden – Sculptural Habitat

545 Matakana Road, Warkworth – next to the Protea Patch Plant Nursery

There are 20 large sculptures in the Matakana Sculptural Habitat, plus 13 open quotes and seven closed booklet quotations, all selected for their relevance to the concept of transformation from the Writings of the Baha’i Faith.

Morris and James Pottery

Tongue Farm Road

Morris and James Pottery  have a range of individually styled pots, pottery, art, home ware and sculptural pieces made here from clay dug from the banks of the Matakana River. The collection showroom & cafe are open 7 days from 9am to 5pm.

There is a FREE pottery tour every day at 11:30am.

Morris and James Pottery is located just east of Matakana Village on Tongue Farm Rd.
