Leigh Sawmill Cafe Gigs
The Sawmill Cafe is located in the historic Leigh Sawmill. It is one of New Zealand’s premier music venues and is a unique place to see the country’s best musicians and select international acts. It has a great variety of music and artists and provides an intimate environment to enjoy your favourite artist or experience someone new.
The Sawmill supports New Zealand Artists and Music all year round.
Whangateau Acoustic Music and Social Club
Whangateau Acoustic Music and Social Club is a small community folk club run for the benefit of touring independent musicians, the support of local musicians and local music lovers. The group is run ‘not for profit’.
The Whangateau Hall is a beautiful wooden 110+ year old hall with amazing acoustics. The Whangateau Folk Club invites talented musicians to come play there and invites everyone in the community to come and watch them and hang out together.
Club nights are the last Monday of the month and begin with one hour of floor singers. All interested musicians are invited to put their name down to perform two numbers. In the second half, there is either a guest band, a jam night, or just floor singers all night long. Everyone is welcome to join in. Anyone who would rather sit and chat and listen is welcome as well.
