MELODOWNZ, all the way from Avondale, hip hop lyricist Bronson Price is a storyteller with a uniquely Auckland sound, reflecting his Samoan, European and Māori heritage. A little more than a year on from the release of his first solo EP Avontales, MELODOWNZ has generated a following that has seen him take the stage at Northern Bass and Laneway Festival, as well as headline slots across the country and shows alongside his friend and collaborator Noah Slee in Europe. Most recently MELODOWNZ appeared on SWIDT’s new cut ‘Off The Top’, JessB’s ‘Ride Out’, LatinAotearoa’s ‘Under The Sun’ and shortly, Yoko-Zuna’s hyped next release. Melowdownz on BandCamp
In July Melo dropped the HIGH BEAMS project with collaborators IllBaz and Raiza Biza, causing nothing short of a sensation. In it’s five star review, the NZ Herald called it one of the most exciting releases of the year, adding “High Beams shines bright and has just set 2018’s hip-hop benchmark.” He’s just wrapped up a tour with local heroes SWIDT and about to be hitting the festival circuit over the summer.
